Bradley Cooper Wants Murder Mystery Role

Bradley Cooper wants to star in a remake of Murder, She Wrote.

The classic American television programme starred Angela Lansbury as writer and amateur sleuth Jessica Fletcher, with each episode following her as she solved a crime. Twelve seasons aired between 1984 and 1996, and it was one of the longest-running series on the CBS network.

Bradley is currently promoting his new movie The A-Team, which is based on the 80s television show. He plays Templeton ‘Face’ Peck, and has revealed he has his sights set on appearing in other movies which are inspired by television programmes.

“Nobody can re-create Angie’s performance but Murder, She Wrote had the best character on TV,” he told Cover Media. “I know her personally, it’s OK.”

The A-Team director Joe Carnahan gets annoyed when his movie is termed a “remake”, as he insists it stands in its own right. He revealed he has been asked to make big screen versions of lots of different shows, but this was among the few he was interested in.

“You know I don’t know, I keep hearing everyone saying it’s a remake of the A-Team but you really can’t remake a TV show. You can try to distil five years and 83 episodes into a two hour movie but I think it’s difficult,” he said. “They called me about The Equalizer and I thought, ‘You know, I’m good.’ I love The Six Million Dollar Man, I think that would be a great movie.”

Liam Neeson, who plays Hannibal Smith in The A-Team film, could barely contain his excitement at Jo’s revelation. “The Equalizer would be fantastic,” he said.

“Yeah? Well, they wanna do it man, let’s go,” Joe laughed.

Neeson: ‘Bradley Cooper was terrifying’

Liam Neeson has admitted that he first found acting alongside Bradley Cooper in The A-Team “terrifying”.

The 58-year-old has revealed that after his initial meeting with Cooper, he found his talent as an actor “inspiring”, reports Contactmusic.

He said: “We did a scene in the van which was my first time with Bradley. He starts this improvisation, prompted by the director, and I’m there going, ‘What the hell is this?’ So it was terrifying for the first few days, and then it got to be inspiring actually.”

Neeson recently said that he finds it “touching” that he still receives messages of support about his late wife Natasha Richardson.

The A-Team, which opened in the US last month to mixed reviews, is released in the UK on July 30.

Bradley Cooper: A Master in the Kitchen

“Extra” caught up with “A-Team” star Bradley Cooper to find out everything from his college experience to his culinary skills.

Check out what you should know about the blockbuster star.
Things You Need to Know About Bradley CooperGraduate of Georgetown University

“I loved the college experience of studying. I was very grateful to be there. I applied out of high school and I didn’t get in and then I applied as a transfer and got in,” says the actor who graduated from the school’s honors English program in 1997. “I felt honored to be there, so I worked my ass off. The whole time I was there I thought I wasn’t smart enough so I felt like I had to.”
Likes a Down to Earth Woman

As for what quality Bradley looks for in a partner, he has said, “Give me an authentic woman, and I’m happy.”

The actor has been previously linked to Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and was briefly married to actress Jennifer Esposito. He is currently dating Renee Zellweger.
He Has Two Rescue Dogs

“I have two beautiful dogs that I cherish. Samson is a 14-year-old German short hair pointer and Charlotte is a 6 or 7-year-old Chow Retriever mix. They are both rescue dogs and they are the best … I’m sort of a hybrid of both my dogs. Samson is stoic and makes me earn it and Charlotte loves me undyingly. They’re my kids.”
Fluent in French

“When I was a kid, I remember watching “Chariots of Fire.” French is the official language of the Olympics. So there’s a scene where a guy was speaking French and I thought, ‘Man, that sounds so cool. I want to learn French.’”
He’s a Master in the Kitchen

“I seriously love to cook … My grandmother was an amazing cook. As a kid I used to help her make handmade pasta, Cavatelli and Ravioli. It was one of my favorite things to do. I love the idea of making whatever is in the fridge into something.”
Lover of Literature

Some of his favorite books are “Lolita,” “A Home at the End of the World,” and “Ask the Dusk.”
Wears a Size 14 Shoe

“I had size 12 feet when I was 10, so I thought I was going to be 6′ 8″. My goal was to be able to dunk a basket. I wound up being 6′ 1″ with size 14 feet.”

The Green Lantern Secret That Gave Ryan Reynolds the Edge Over Bradley
Filed Under: News, The Green Lantern

As it is with many superhero movies these days, the race to cast the title role in Green Lantern was a very public one. Though Ryan Reynolds eventually won the part, Bradley Cooper, Justin Timberlake, and Jared Leto were among the finalists whose names found their way to the press. Today at a press conference at Comic-Con, Reynolds shared the tidbit that he thinks clinched it for him over his competition.

Both Reynolds and producer Donald De Line admitted that the finalists had to endure two separate screen tests, and there was one important stipulation. “We found out that [the studio executives] always want to see the guy in the mask,” said De Line, “and Ryan looks really good in the mask.”

“There was a Cinderella element to it,” admitted Reynolds, laughing. “We have these things on our industry called a lifecast, and it’s a mold of an actor’s head and you can build a prosthetic around that. You can do anything with that, and obviously, Peter [Sarsgaard] did one for his prosthetics in the film.

“The effects house that was asked to make the Green Lantern mask had no idea who was auditioning, but they arbitrarily chose my head from the vast catalogue of actors’ heads to build the mask around. When I showed up to the set [for a screen test], my mask fit a little bit better than [it did in], maybe, Regis Philbin’s or Richard Chamberlain’s audition.”

I think I’m on to you, Mr. Reynolds. Is Justin the Regis and Bradley the Richard Chamberlain?

Bradley living the dream as Face in The A-Team
Filed Under: News, The A-Team

Like every other child of the Eighties, Bradley Cooper loved running around the playground pretending to blow up baddies and leap out of a cool black van.

But unlike every other child of that era who just dreamed of being in the A-Team, Bradley has just done it for real.

One of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, the 35-year-old actor has just lived his – and our – childhood fantasies by taking on the iconic role of Templeton “Face” Peck in the blockbuster remake of the show.

Made by acclaimed director Joe Carnahan, the massive movie is one of the most eagerly-awaited releases of the summer season, thanks mainly to the universal popularity of the central cast.

Liam Neeson plays the cigar-chomping leader of the mercenary group, Hannibal, District 9 hero Sharlto Copley is the crazy pilot Howlin’ Mad Murdock and UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson borrows Mr T’s mohican as B.A. Baracus.

And, after his success as the charming lead in last year’s smash The Hangover, Bradley was the perfect choice for the part of wide-smiling and smooth-talking Face.

bradley certainly loved every single minute of living out those playground antics on the big screen.

He said: “I don’t know any guy growing up who didn’t want to learn how to shoot a gun and run around pretending they were doing all of these crazy things.

“It’s pretty great, because we actually learned how to run an M4 machine gun with fully loaded blanks and it was really intense.

“We were conscious of adhering to the integrity of the TV show, for sure.

“But they certainly had budget restrictions – and this is a huge Fox tentpole action movie, so we were able to do things like having a tank fall from an airplane, shooting in the sky and just huge stunt pieces, so it upped the ante.

“One of the best days was when the creator (Stephen J. Cannell) looked at about 20 minutes of assembled footage from our movie and told us that it was exactly how he had always envisioned the show. That was really cool.

“It’s a little grittier and a little bit darker. But it definitely has the same tone in terms of comedy and mood.”

The idea of an A-Team movie has been doing the Hollywood gossip rounds for more than a decade. Stars like Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg and Brendan Fraser were all rumoured to be in line for the Face role, but Bradley’s breakout part as the worst best man in history coincided with the film getting the green light last year and won him the sought-after part.

Confirmed: ‘The Hangover 2′ will take place in Thailand
Filed Under: News, The Hangover 2

Well, after months of speculation– and a denial or two from the man directing the film– it’s finally been confirmed: The Hangover 2 will take place in Thailand. Yes, the land of lady-boys and Pad-Thai will be welcoming Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha, Ed Helms, and director Todd Phillips when the film begins shooting in just a few weeks. The original Hangover made hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide and established Galifianakis as a comedy force to be reckoned with, all while earning some very solid reviews. Will they be able to maintain that level of quality for the sequel? Well, experience tells us that, no, they won’t, but let’s hope for the best anyway. Read all about it below, my gentle Examiner readers…

Even though Hollywood doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to sequels, we’re willing to put our hope and faith into Todd Phillips for The Hangover 2. Maybe it’s because the first one exceeded expectations, or maybe it’s just because anything starring Zach Galifianakis automatically gets a pass here at the Comedy Examiner’s Office (lone exception: G-Force), but I’m inclined to give this one the benefit of the doubt. After months of speculation, Coming Soon has revealed that the sequel will, in fact, take place in Thailand (as previously denied by the film’s director). Here’s what they’re saying:

“The Hangover 2 is headed to Thailand, a source has just confirmed to ComingSoon.net. Production will move there this fall with a script that sees the characters from the 2009 hit comedy traveling to Asia.”

It would appear that Phillips’ denials about the film’s location were all just misdirection. Coming Soon also confirms that Bradley Cooper, Galifianakis, Ed Helms, and Justin Bartha will be appearing in round-two, settling the ongoing debate about whether or not Bartha had “earned” a spot in the sequel (of course he did, you nerds). Phillips is currently putting the finishing touches on Due Date– due to arrive in theaters this Fall– in addition to wrapping up the scripting for Hangover 2.

Which raises an interesting question: what will the script for Hangover 2 be like? Moving the film to Thailand seems to offer up some very obvious possible directions for the story to take, and after the first film, one can imagine all manner of debauchery that our heroes may be involved in. Will there be another hangover, wherein the cast are forced to retrace their steps? That seems lame, but wouldn’t there have to be in order to maintain the Hangover name? What do you think, folks? Sound off in the comments section below: we wanna know what you’re expecting out of The Hangover 2!

Bradley, Bruce Willis To Star In Next M. Night Shyamalan Project
Filed Under: News

Director M. Night Shyamalan is preparing to release his first big-budget, effects-driven blockbuster, “The Last Airbender,” based on the Nickelodeon cartoon “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” on July 1. And his next original film is a project for which the stars now seem to be aligning.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog reveals that those stars include Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Bruce Willis, who are all “loosely attached” to headline the film. No plot details have been revealed, as is usual with Shyamalan, but the filmmaker has assistants ferrying his script between studio execs, who are observed by those same assistants and are expected to surrender the script immediately after finishing.

“Lady in the Water” aside, Shyamalan’s films continue to make money, though his most recent efforts have fared poorly with critics. And nothing has performed as well as the director’s debut effort, “The Sixth Sense,” which starred Willis and earned almost $700 million in worldwide ticket sales. The actor also worked with Shyamalan on his “Sixth Sense” follow-up, “Unbreakable.” If Willis is cast in this mysterious “Airbender” follow-up, it would be the pair’s first time working together since 2000.

Cooper, who is just coming off of smiling for the cameras in support of this summer’s “The A-Team” and presenting duties at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, has a big 2011 coming up. He’ll star in the Todd Phillips-directed ensemble comedy “The Hangover 2,” reprising his role from last summer. He’ll also lead a cast that includes Robert De Niro, Anna Friel and Abbie Cornish in an adaptation of Alan Glynn’s novel “The Dark Fields.”

Paltrow is also coming off of a big press push for her own work in 2010 summer blockbuster “Iron Man 2.” She’ll appear later this year with Leighton Meester, Tim McGraw and “Tron Legacy” star Garrett Hedlund in the country music drama “Love Don’t Let Me Down.” She’s also one of the sizable ensemble cast that’s assembled for Steven Soderbergh’s “Contagion,” which also stars Matt Damon, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard and Laurence Fishburne.
