Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling’s upcoming generational thriller ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ first footage will be shown on this weekend to the buyers who gather around the world at the Toronto Film Festival. Besides, Derek Cianfrance is filming the high-profile indie title which also joins with the stars Rose Byrne and Eva Mendes. However, the project reteams Gosling and Cianfrance who worked together on the critically acclaimed ‘Blue Valentine’, a film about a failing marriage.
The movie is produced by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. It did some brisk presales business when it is first introduced at the Cannes Film Market in a last May by Sierra/Affinity. Including France and United Kingdom, a number of key territory deals were signed. In ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’, Ryan Gosling plays a professional motorcycle stunt rider who turns to bank robberies to support his newborn son, but when he bounces on the paths with a rookie police officer, their violent confrontation spirals into a tense generational feud tracing the intersecting lives of fathers and sons, cops and robbers, heroes and villains.
Meyer said that it looks spectacular and it is poignant. He added that it is an epic and Derek has once again proved his best a great filmmaker. He also added that the cast is fantastic and the confidence that SKE showed in the producers and filmmakers is evident in what you see on the screen. Sidney Kimmel, Lynette Howell, Alex Orlovsky and Jamie Patricof are the producers of ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’.
