Ryan Reynolds Is ‘The Green Lantern’

Eric     Jul 12th, 2009     The Green Lantern     0 Replies

Unfortunately, Ryan Reynolds has been picked to be “The Green Lantern.” :( I was pulling for Bradley because I personally think that he would do it much better (lol), but oh well! Ryan is still one of my favorites. So I’m happy for him. Anyways, you can read about it here if you’d like to read the article: Ryan Reynolds Is ‘The Green Lantern’.

Ryan Reynolds Vs. Bradley Cooper Vs. Justin Timberlake: Who Would You Vote For?

Eric     Jul 11th, 2009     The Green Lantern     0 Replies

As our brother blog Splash Page mentioned earlier today, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper and Justin Timberlake are the final three moving on in the hopes of becoming America’s next top superhero Hal Jordan in 2011’s “Green Lantern.” Unfortunately, we can’t sit in on the screen tests, but we’re pretty sure we know how each actor (or in Justin’s case singer-actor) measures up. Here’s our list of the pros and cons of each would-be superhero. We’ll let you decide which hunk should don the coveted power ring.

Ryan Reynolds
Pro: Ryan’s already established his superhero cred as Wade Wilson in this summer’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” Heck, he was so good producers gave him his own Deadpool spin-off set for a 2011 release.

Con: Those abs will be out of sight underneath that green suit. Sigh.

Bradley Cooper
Pro: They didn’t call him Zachary “Sack” Lodge in “Wedding Crashers” for nothing. The guy knows how to inflict pain…

Con:…unless he’s facing a nearly naked Asian man (like in “The Hangover”).

Justin Timberlake
Pro: Thanks to his inspired “Single Ladies” spoof, we know J.T. looks good in nothing more than a leotard and tights.

Con: Hal Jordan’s foes may not look too kindly upon the singer when he kicks their butts to the tune of “Cry Me a River.”

Bradley Cooper’s Hangover cure is keeping busy

Eric     Jul 11th, 2009     The Hangover     0 Replies

Bradley Cooper has gone from best friend on TV’s Alias, to worst enemy in Wedding Crashers, to conflicted (as in torn between Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Connelly) married guy in He’s Just Not That Into You. He plays Phil, the big-talking-but-secretly-happily-married leader of the pack in The Hangover, the surprise hit of the summer — it has made more than $200 million in its first five weeks. Advance screenings reportedly so tickled studio brass that a sequel is already in development.

Q: Although you’re the engine of the group, you’re also the de facto straight man.

A: I kind of fell in love with Phil. He reminded me of a lot of fathers I’ve met; their bark is much bigger than their bite. They wielded quite a wand when they were younger, probably, but their life has changed and they try to live vicariously through friends who haven’t, as they say, gone over to the dark side. They are great fathers, and they love their wives and their friends more than anything.

Q: I think the final look we get of him with his family tells the truth.

A: Exactly. We talked about that a lot, that very last scene with my son on my shoulder, asleep, that being a very important visual for the audience to realize who this guy really is.

Q: You’re certainly busy.

A: You know, I haven’t worked since The Hangover. I did promote Yes Man, He’s Just Not That Into You and hosted Saturday Night Live, which was a dream. I did a USO tour to Afghanistan; I got to campaign for the president in Missouri.

Q: When did you go to Afghanistan?

A: It was February. I’m still computing what I took away from it. I’ve never been in a war zone. We were definitely on the front lines of a war. Just the fact that right now, while we’re having this interview, the guys that I met are at a base with the enemy 200 yards away and no one to protect them but themselves. That’s a daunting realization about what’s going on around the world right now. It takes it out of the TV screen and puts it right in front of your face.

Q: Have you seen anything lately that inspired you?

A: All the time. I thought James Toback’s Mike Tyson documentary (Tyson) was amazing. I thought the Valentino documentary was inspiring. I was just on the jury for the Tribeca Film Festival and I got to see some amazing movies — this Norwegian movie called North (Nord), an Iranian film called About Elly (Dabareye Elly). I saw an amazing performance by Zoe Kazan in The Exploding Girl. I saw a great performance by Ciarán Hinds (in The Eclipse). So, yeah, I’ve been inspired a lot lately.

Q: Have you guys talked seriously about the Hangover sequel yet? Has anyone signed up?

A: I love the enthusiasm, and I think it’s great that Warners has shown interest in it. But let’s just wait to see … .

Bradley Cooper & Eric Dane to be Gay Lovers?

Eric     Jul 11th, 2009     News, Valentine's Day     0 Replies

Now here is a movie that I would pay double, triple even, to see!! “Grey’s Anatomy” sexy star Eric Dane has signed on to play a Bret Farve-like quarterback in Garry Marshall’s upcoming comedy “Valentine’s Day.” Bradley Cooper is in final negotiations to also star in the movie, which is about five slightly-interconnecting stories playing out during Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles. While the summary does not mention Dane’s character to be gay, the backstory behind Coopers’s character leads you to believe that he just might be… Cooper will play a gay man whose lover is a closeted football player. The movie also stars Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, and Shirley MacLaine with Ashton Kutcher said to also be in final negotiations. Kutcher would play an owner of a flower shop who proposes to his girlfriend, played by Alba, only to realize he is in love with his close friend, played by Garner, who discovers her boyfriend is married, who from the sounds of it will be played by fellow Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, also tapped to star in the movie, whos character is a cheating doctor. Did you follow me there?

With such a star-studded cast, this movie will definitely be a must see in my book! Only thing that would make this even better would be if they were to suddenly replace the stuck-up Jessica Alba!

‘The Hangover’: The moment you actually relate to

Eric     Jul 11th, 2009     The Hangover     0 Replies

The Hangover remained No. 1 at the box office last weekend, and my $12.50 was among the receipts. While I’d love to do a post discussing whether Bradley Cooper sports what I’d call a “modern mullet” (and how we feel about that), I concede that there is a more worthwhile question to ask: Is there a moment in The Hangover you actually relate to? For me, it’s when Phil (Cooper) says they’re adults and that they won’t be sharing beds. I can share a bed with a friend in a hotel, but I prefer not to. Also, the part where they agreed to look at the pictures once and then delete them. Technically, I do not know if my sister destroyed the shots from her bachelorette party in 2001, but I do know that she’s never let me near the Olympic Garden ones again. (Maverick, Tristan, and Sultan, you live on in my memory. Particularly you, Maverick.)

Green Lantern Casting: It’s Down to Three

Eric     Jul 11th, 2009     News, The Green Lantern     0 Replies

Apparently the pressure is on Warner Bros. to make a decision about who they want to cast as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in the upcoming live action GL film as holding options on the three actors they’ve narrowed it down to — Bradley Cooper, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake — have expired.

Notes The Hollywood Reporter, “The studio ordered up two rounds of screen tests with Cooper, Reynolds and Timberlake. Other actors in the early mix included Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Jared Leto…Another issue impacting the casting process is the rising budget. ‘Lantern’ is a full-blown space epic that is expected to cost between $150 million and $200 million, if not more. Warners would like to have the production costs at a reasonable level before proceeding. The studio has scheduled the movie for a December 2010 opening.”

Of the three actors — and this is based on nothing more than supposition — it would seem that Cooper would have the edge. For one thing, Reynolds is already pretty closely identified with Deadpool and has reportedly signed to star in his own spin-off from X-Men Origins: Wolverine (plus, does Warners want an actor playing a Marvel character portraying one of the key DC heroes?); and Justin Timberlake, despite his incredible success in the music industry, has yet to prove himself a strong enough actor to assume this role.

As to Cooper, given the success of “The Hangover” and his obvious appeal to the audience, it would seem that he would be a natural for the part. What are your thoughts on the subject?

Hey everybody! I’m finally back from vacation! I was originally supposed to come back on Tuesday, but my plans changed and I stayed 4 extra days! There has been a lot of news on Bradley in the past week, but not so much when it comes to photos and videos. I’ll get started on posting all the new news after in just a second. Also, I want to remind all of you that not only am I not Bradley, but I have no way of getting in contact with him. I’ve been getting a lot of emails about that I just thought I’d announce it here again. Also, I’ve been getting a lot of nasty and rude comments not only towards this site, but also about Bradley and I just wanted to let you guys know that those comments will not be posted, they will be deleted and the person who leaves them will get their IP address banned. It may sound harsh, but I don’t like getting rude comments towards me, the site, or towards Bradley. Anyways, take care everybody! -Eric

Mini Vacation!

Eric     Jul 4th, 2009     Site Updates     0 Replies

Hey everybody, my family and I will be taking a little mini vacation! I’m leaving tomorrow (Saturday) and I won’t be back until Tuesday. :( Since I won’t have any internet access, I won’t be able to update the site until I get back on Tuesday. So if there are no updates, don’t worry, I will post all of the new news, photos, videos, updates, etc. when I get back. But I recently got a co-web, Michelle, and I’m sure if there is any news that she feels she has post, she will post it. :) And hopefully this little mini vacation will take all my stress away from all of my sites. lol. Take care everybody! -Eric
