Question: How is to work with Jennifer Lawrence? This is the second time for you.
Answer: Yes, that’s the second time and the first wasn’t even long time ago. I feel truly blessed. She’s incredible, very talented and a great professionist.
Q: You’re becoming powerful in Hollywood. Do you think that power is afrodisiac? Are you attracted from it?
A: It can truly be afrodisiac, that’s for sure! But at the same time can be awful. It depends on which kind of power do you have, how you got it and how you use it.
Q: How do you seduce women and how do you like to be seduced by them?
A: I’m getting old so, I consider all the seduction tecniques a way to avoid the truth. If you want to know what people truly think about you it’s better to be yourself. If you play a part you have to remember which part you are playing and stay stick to the role and, in this way, you’re the reason of your fall. The best thing is to be yourself and hope that people are gonna like you.
Q: And how a woman can seduce you?
A: With food. She can cook for me.
Q: What do you think is sexy?
A: Autenticity and honesty
Q: How did you prepare for the role of this guy with mental diseases on Silver Linings Playbook? Did yoi visit any hospital?
A: I didn’t have time. David O’Russll, the director, sent me a bunch of videos and stuff plus I found a documentary online, shooted by a guy who had registered his depression and his pathologies for years. It inspired me. It was shoot in Philadelphia and it described the relationship he has with his parents. Draw your conclusions.
Q: Do you think that love can heal people with mental diseases? Your character meets this girl and gets better?
A: I don’t think he heal. I don’t even think that the message of the movie is this. I think that life goes on and he gets better. Did you have the impression that he healed?
Q: Do you think that mental diseases are, sort of, a taboo on everyday life?
A: I don’t know. If it is, I hope this movie can help. I hope that people learn to relate with those kind of people and find a way to talk with them.
Q: You seem very honest.
A: I try to be honest and very scrupulous.
Q: Do you think in a relationship is important to be honest?
A: You have to be scrupulous. I think that’s the trick to get it work.
Q: How can you be so positive?
A: I try to not leave this state of grace I’m in, that’s what makes me positive.
Q: What do you do when you’re stressed?
A: I have a basement where I live now (laugh). Sports and gym are always very helpful.
Q: Hollywood Reporter, one of the most important american magazines about cinema, described you as one of the most beautiful man on earth. How do you stay down to earth with all those amazing things that happen to you?
A: I look at my success with prudence. I think is a business, that can also humilate you everyday. With internet is even faster. I take all of this like a job and I try to not create an imaginary world. If you stay grounded you don’t even believe about bad things.
Q: So you Google yourself?
A: Of course! (laugh)
