Alias may be coming back… or at least a new version of it may be on the way.
Eonline’s Kristin Dos Santos is reporting that, while nothing is official, ABC is in very early talks about a possible reboot of the J.J. Abrams created series, which starred Jennifer Garner.
Dos Santos says that the network, having failed to find a foothold with the cancelled FlashForward, is looking at other ways to create a new series that could resonate with the kind of audience Lost had, and Alias is one title that is brewing among the execs. Apparently this new version of the series would “borrow some elements” from the original, but “would most likely not include any sort of complex mythological throughline such as the Rambaldi prophecy.”
One thing that’s uncertain is how involved Abrams would be with a new version of Alias, if at all – As you’re probably aware, the guy is just a little bit busy these days with other projects, including the new NBC spy series Undercovers
So what do you think? Can you accept someone besides Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow? Let us know in the comments!
While Sony and Lionsgate fight a bidding war for the rights to the “Terminator” franchise, “Terminator Salvation” director McG is looking for his next movie in lieu of not going on to helm the series’ fifth installment. Though he’s still linked to the Broadway musical adaptation “Spring Awakening,” according to Variety he has also been in talks to helm a “priority project” for Fox titled “This Means War.”
The comedy already has two stars in place, Bradley Cooper and Reese Witherspoon. It is expected to begin shooting this spring, which would make it the director’s next movie, rather than the musical. The screenplay for “This Means War” has reportedly been rewritten so many times that it’s difficult to say who the author is anymore, but the most recent draft is by “Role Models” scribe Timothy Dowling (who interestingly enough acted in a “Terminator” movie — the third one).
The plot sounds very “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” yet in “This Means War” the spies who turn on each other are best friends rather than husband and wife. It’s that classic story of a woman coming between two guys and ruining their friendship. Or, can I please, please presume that Witherspoon is one of the friends, not the object of affection for two men?
That would be a bold twist that Fox likely wouldn’t explore. Too “Being John Malkovich,” not enough “There’s Something About Mary” or “Feeling Minnesota” (all these films star Cameron Diaz, coincidentally). Of course, the Hollywood ending would probably cop out and suppress the lesbianism aspect by having Cooper and Witherspoon’s spy buddies make up, make out and fall in love with each other. Probably because that dream woman (cast Diaz!) turns out to be a bad guy or something.
Whatever the case, if McG is on board, I’m still looking forward to this. I’m one of the few people not embarrassed to say I like both “Charlie’s Angels” movies and really enjoyed the director’s “Terminator” sequel and ideas for continuing the series. I could definitely see him doing something fun along the lines of the “Charlie’s” movies combined with “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”
I also urge all McG haters out there to watch the director in the FunnyOrDie video where he’s directing Rachel Bilson in a sex scene for a fake film called “Hearts of Palm.” Hilarious and disturbing.
Can you see McG’s talents benefiting “This Means War” or would you prefer another director be hired? Would you rather the filmmaker do more action comedies or be allowed to continue the “Terminator” franchise?
Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper have reportedly spent £2.5 million on their first home together.
The loved-up couple have only been dating for a few months, but, according to a US publication, the actors have settled on a four-bedroom property in the Pacific Palisades community in California.
And Cooper is so happy with their new home, The Hangover star even gave his parents a mini-tour of the place when they visited at Christmas.
A source told the tabloid: ‘Bradley and Renee were proud to be sharing their new house with his parents. They looked happy together and very much in love.’
The insider added: ‘They have already lots of plans for the renovations. They’re both homebodies, and they can’t wait to have a place to entertain friends and just be together.’
Bradley Cooper & Rene Zellweger Are Over
Bradley Cooper has broken up with Rene Zellweger, reports British newspaper, The Daily Mail.
This is the latest movie star relationship tragedy of the year. It seems as if you can’t catch a break if you are an actress in Hollywood; both Rene Zellwegger and Jennifer Anniston, are box office stars that dated Bradley Cooper, and many others, but still remain ‘desperately’ single. Rene is reported to be heartbroken, but Bradley Cooper told her that he needs space- Yadda Yadda Yadda. You can read the full articles HERE.
Rene Zellwegger is set to start filming “Bridget Jones 3,” and has two other movies about to come out: “Case 39″ and “My Own Love Song.”
Bradley Cooper has a number of movies coming out, most notable being the “A-Team” remake, where he stars as Face. His other movies are: “Valentine’s Day,” “Matt Helm,” and “The Hangover 2.”
Bradley Cooper is reportedly the No.1 pick for the forthcoming Matt Helm series being produced by Gary Ross. Get the details on Cooper’s possible attachment below.
Just a week ago director Gary Ross was said to be tackling Peter Parkers, Marvel Comics arch enemy, Venom as his next big movie project. Now the news has come that Ross will be taking the 1960’s Matt Helm book series to the big screen with Bradley Cooper as the suave leading man.
The Matt Helm series, which was said to have inspired the Austin Powers flicks, was created over thirty years ago by novelist Donald Hamilton who penned twenty-seven books surrounding Helm. The story centers around a US government counter-agent, similar to the likes of the Jason Bourne series. Years ago Dean Martin appeared as Helm on film.
Originally in the hands of Steven Spielberg, the project was then given to Ross by Paramount. The leading role in the big screen remake had both George Clooney and Jon Hamm in the running but now sources are siting that Bradley Cooper is the man for the job. A rising star, Cooper fits the bill for the role with his good looks and talents. Shooting on Matt Helm will kick off in the summer of 2010.
Renee Zellweger is gushing to friends about her boyfriend Bradley Cooper. Sources say Zellweger believes Cooper is “the one” and is ready to move in with the actor.
“I think he’s the one!” Zellweger allegedly told a friend. “I never thought I would be in love like this again.”
An insider says Cooper, who is rumored to have dated Jennifer Aniston, shares Zellweger’s feelings. “He wants a real home and a place for them to be together,” adds the source.
Cooper, 34, and Zellweger, 40, began dating in late June. They star together in the upcoming thriller Case 39.
Bradley Cooper is a player for a reason: He’s so effing hot! Sure, Renée Zellweger is an Oscar-winning A-list actress, and we’re sure she’s a really nice girl and all, but aren’t you all thinking the same thing we are? He’s way too good-looking for her…right?
The two are supposedly still “on,” but at last night’s All About Steve premiere, you wouldn’t know it:
Most celebs skip the personal Q’s on the carpet, but Bradley is like Robert Pattinson when it comes down to the romance stuff. He’s just not gonna give ya much!
Coop dodged all Zellweger and Aniston quandaries, and steered clear of any pesky gossip outlets in general. That seems a bit overboard, considering he could probably hypnotize any woman reporter with those bright blue eyes of his to write whatever he damn well wants her to.
As much as we heart Bradley, though, he isn’t exactly the guy you want to husband-up, and from what we hear we don’t think he’s in any hurry to walk down that aisle again. Hey—maybe Jen Aniston could be the gal for him after all? Both are clearly not looking for anything serious. If only they would just own up to it, already.
Hollywood’s latest star couple, Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper, is officially engaged, according to a new report.
It has been claimed that Cooper has taken the actress to meet his parents in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania to inform them about their engagement, Glamorati.com reported.
The ‘Chicago’ actress reportedly has been spotted sporting “a simple but elegant diamond ring”, yet managed to take it off when she had to appear in “Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday.
Zellweger, 40, and Cooper, 34, who are co-stars in upcoming horror-thriller “Case 39″, have become the centre of media attention for quite sometime due to their alleged romance.
Never openly admitting their relationship, the two have been photographed getting cosy during a stay in Barcelona, Spain recently. However, they never appear together in public once they got back to US.
Both Zellweger and Cooper have each married before.
The actress was married to country music singer Kenny Chesney from May to December 2005. While Cooper was married to actress Jennifer Esposito in December 2006. Four months later they split before then having their divorce finalised in November 2007.
Bradley was seen with Renee Zellweger on August 8th catching a flight to Spain. Some speculation has occurred about whether they are dating or not, but we still have yet to actually confirm it. I’ll let you guys know as soon as possible on whether we know for sure!
Anyways, enjoy the photos!

It made for a romantic image: Jennifer Aniston meeting with Bradley Cooper for a Washington D.C. rendezvous as a follow-up to their “just friends” New York dinner in June in New York.
Only one problem.
“It didn’t happen, they were not there together,” says a rep for Cooper, 34, throwing cold water on the Capitol hookup reports that have circulated online. “Bradley was there on a stop-over from his USO tour.”
Cooper isn’t the only one busy denying a romance with Aniston, 40. Her costar in The Bounty, Gerard Butler, 39, recently blasted such rumors, calling them “just annoying.”
